Blog 3 - First Interview Preperation

( In the picture above is Mr. Hafif, in the middle, along with family members and co-workers.)

  1. Who do you plan to interview? Why?
    •  I plan to interview an attorney I came into contact with a long time ago. His name is Herbert Hafif and he owns a law office that is now ran and directed by his son. Mr. Hafif was an attorney for over thirty years, but now he is retired. He would help me understand what he had to go through as an attorney and give me information on the skills I need to learn.
  1.  Five questions will be assigned to all seniors to ask. What additional questions do you plan to ask? Ask open-ended questions. What are open-ended questions?
    •  Open-ended questions are questions that cannot be answered with a simple yes or no. They are questions that allow the person to talk and elaborate on the question and do not allow any particular answer.
  • What made you decide to go into the field of Law?
  • What was important to you in your job? Why?
  • Have you ever made an error in judgement during a case? How did you handle it?
  • What motivated you the most?
  • Before you owned your company, who did you work for?
  • How do you measure your own success?
  •  Did you face any hardships when first starting your company?
  • What were your basic responsibilities everyday?
  • Do you ever regret retiring?
  • If you could change one thing that you did, either in the court room or at your company, what would it be? Why?
